Unfortunately, among the number of the orphanages in Odessa and its region there is also a place even with a bigger need - for mentally retirded girls and the girls with Down Syndrome and others. There are baout 160 girls totally in this place. Their age various: 5 to 40 years old may be. Some are in better condition then the others. Some are worse then you would imagine. Their supervisors are very faithful loving working with them. It does require much patience and big heart.
Our team visited these children on Saturday, March the 7th. It was a blessed time when the Lord reminded us once again how much we have to thank Him in our lives. The children were happy to see them and we were happy and blessed to serve them even for that short time.
Their parents never come to visit them. Their future is the nursing home or an institution for desable adults. They do need someone to love them as well. Let it be YOU!

 These girls love visitors, they love to be huged, loved and just have someone to lean on! They need YOUR love!
While We Were...In Memory
While we were eating...... they were hungry
While we were playing...... they were restrained
While we were tucking our kids into bed...... they were alone
While we turned up the heat...... they laid in the icy cold
While we wrapped our children in blanket sleepers...... they laid in their own excrements
While we sang songs and listened to music...... they listened to the screams and cries of those around them
While we rocked our babies...... they silently rocked themselves
While we hugged our kids...... they scratched at their own faces and pulled their own hair for stimulation
While we cried over scraped knees...... they moaned in their loneliness
While we brushed our daughters' beautiful hair...... they had their heads shaven to stave off the lice
While we fought off the flu with love and nourishment...... they got the flu and went Home.
No longer suffering... but so many more still are.
In memory of those that have never felt the love of a family, but have passed away alone.
We would like to express much appreciation to the citizens of Yuzhny town for gathering much clothes. Also, to those who provided the apples for these girls!
